Coming soon: a smoke-free Ohio?
Efforts in cities like Toledo [more], Wauseon [more]and Columbus are making important inroads against smoking in restaurants, bars and other public places. However, these individual initiatives highlight how tough it can be to wage the smoke-free battle on a city-by-city basis. Inconsistent laws and the recent weakening of ordinances in Toledo and Wauseon clearly point up Ohio’s need for statewide tobacco-free legislation.

The Tobacco Alliance is pushing for this and urging local coalitions, interested groups and the public to get involved. The goal: enact a comprehensive tobacco-free law for all of Ohio. Together, we can make it happen. Expect to hear more about these efforts in the future.
