Mom Quit: For Her Health and the Baby's

"At first, I didn't even think about quitting," explained Mandi, who continued to smoke 3-6 cigarettes a day after giving birth in December 2004. However, with the help and encouragement of a nurse in the ProMedica Health System, Mandi has kicked the habit.

"I decided - because I have asthma and for my baby's health - it was a good time to try," she said. "I [haven't smoked] for about four months. Now, I can run around and play football with my nephews. I feel so much better. I don't ever want to smoke again."
